Yep, like answered above. Was there 2 weeks ago, open 11 to 2 for lunch and 5 to 8 for supper on Thursday, Friday and Saturday but hours could change at last minute and menu items may not be available from one day to the next. However, food was worth it, and it is clear she genuinely cares about making and serving delicious food!
No it's a hole in the wall...get their early because whatever they cook is all they have for the day. If you get there late they will be out of stuff.
Great food, unique flavor and experience. This is NOT another chain restaurant.
Everything we ordered was amazing. Service was great too. Get there early or they will be out of food.
Wonderful soul food shack, literally in a back alley. Authentic. Period. Ribs are simple and tasty. Okra and tomatoes are mild and wonderful. Mac and cheese is good but not great, but just as expected at a place like this. Highly recommend this establishment. Miss Theresa is a peach.
If you like BBQ this is the place to go in Savannah. Pulled pork was fresh and hot. Mac n cheese and potato salad were great. For dessert we had the banana pudding and it was excellent as well. This place is hard to find but definitely worth the excursion. Great and friendly service.
How do you know that? That I was there 3 weeks ago, but been going there for 50 plus years... GREAT
I'm not sure why this place gets such rave reviews. The folks working there are very nice, but the food isn't really anything to write home about. The kitchen is right out in the open and doesn't look very clean. Same goes for the dining area. There are much better places to get bbq nearby.
Great food, great people. This is real home cooking folks, not just "tastes like". You walk in this little hole in the wall, and the food? OMG. I got the rib dinner ($12 with 2 sides), she got the 4-side combo. Between us we got collard greens, mac & cheese, Cole slaw, peas, and okra & tomatoes.
A no frills BBQ joint where you can expect to be served like family. Be sure to look out for the extra items on the whiteboard (rearranged words means sold out for the day).
Very cool hole in the wall place. Got a sampling of all meats and did not disappoint. Sides are good too and service is very friendly. Highly recommended.
Visited on a food tour. Great if you want real hand-me-down recipe comfort food. Good luck finding out if you're not a local.
Wall's BBQ is amazing! It took me a minute to find it, sort of hidden down an alleyway. Boy, am I glad I did! I got the ribs, mac and cheese, and black eyed peas. The peas and pasta were good, but the ribs and bbq sauce really stole the show. Definitely recommend this to anyone in Savannah looking for some good mom and pop bbq.
Great service, mom and pop shop with outstanding food, but limited seating. The potato salad, collard greens, mac-n-cheese, and red beans and rice took me back to childhood. Rum cake was outstanding and so was the devil crab.
Definitely a hole in the wall! A hard to find treasure but well worth it! Ronnie was a fabulous friendly face and Miss Theresa is a wizard with food! Ribs, pulled pork, deviled crab, sides were delish! The only down side was that we had no room for dessert! Will for sure be returning next time we visit Savannah!
We had such a lovely time here! A must-go to hole in the wall. Ronnie, our server was such a delight and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the flounder, mac and cheese, collards, BBQ chicken and yams. All of these were mouthwatering. Definitely coming back!
We are so excited that Wall’s BBQ is OPEN FOR BUSINESS again. Great little place for authentic southern soul food!
Best BBQ. Friendly people, delicious food, a little hole in the wall place! Loved it! Best if you just want great food, but don't want to dress up.
I think maybe all of the great reviews about this place being the BEST bbq may have built me up for a let down. We just felt like the ribs were underwhelming. On the upside the fish was great. It's cooked fresh, so order ahead if that's what you want cause its gonna be 20-25 minutes. The potatoe salad and macaroni were awesome. Also they had homemade lemonade which was great. I wasn't impressed with the tea. It is an old place in the middle of an alley, that's seen 3 generations of family ownership. Service was good, and enjoyed talking. We were too full for desert.
The food was very good, but the experience was even nicer. I found this place thanks to Google Maps, so I'm paying it forward. Wall's has been around since 1963. It's been owned by the same family for three generations. The level of service here is phenomenal. There's a tiny dining room and a small kitchen, but the people are so friendly that you don't mind a bit. It's a bit hidden between two actual roads. The "Lane" shown on Google Maps is more of an alley. It's more the worth the extra effort of finding.P.S. Try the devil crab. With the spicy sauce.
Great food, great prices, service with a smile. Limited menu and just a few tables, so get there when it opens and enjoy!!
One Word...... AMAZING. I love everything about this place.
Hubby loved this place!I thought it was fine. Great service by Ronnie.Thank you.
Best BBQ ribs I've had in a long time
Great ribs and pulled pork. A bit hard to find in the alley but once you know it's easy. All the sides we had we're great too. Friendly and inviting staff.
Delicious pulled pork sandwich, cute menu board, when the word is scrambled they don't have any more
When in Savannah you should definitely grab a bite to eat from here. You will love the food and the low prices too!
Barbecue was very good, but what made an even greater impression was the staff. Lovely people in this friendly, family-run joint. And yes, it's in an alley. Don't give up looking for it!
Not only is the food great, but the family who owns it is really awesome!
I was really excited to eat here, I found it driving through the alleyway it’s in and then looked it up to find food tours stop here, which got be hyped! To preface this, I’m vegetarian so BBQ isn’t the best genre for me to review but, there is room for sides! That being said, the sides were nothing to write home about. However, my date got the chicken and licked the plate clean! Something I can review is the sweet tea (I’m an affection-ado) and it was wayyy too sweet ☹️ All in all, the service was phenomenally nice and the ambiance was unique so 4 stars for you should try, but nothing to go back to.
Hard to find but we'll worth the search. Immaculately clean. Wonderful service. Flavorful, perfectly cooked ribs and barbecue. Greens were outstanding. You should go
What a ridiculous treasure buried within the growing presence of restaurant chains! It was an adventure even finding this place. If you follow Google Maps, you'll think that it's leading you wrongly off the beaten path, but no, listen to the app; it will show you the way. If you've come from outside the South and you thirst for a taste of the REAL South, go to this place. The stripped down decor really spoke to me and l The proof of it's authenticity is in the side dishes: okra stewed with tomatoes, black eyed peas; it don't get more real than that. Also, the corn bread was made with a responsibility. Unlike some carpet-bagger corn bread, it was made with only a hint of sweetness. Why do Yankees always pour on the sugar and call it authentic? The BBQ sauce was a decent heavily vinegared sauce: good but nothing spectacular. We didn't try a dessert. The selection was limited when we were there.
If I could give this place a negative 5 I would. I went with my family to have authentic BBQ and we were all greatly disappointed with the food & service. First, we ordered ribs & puled pork with potato salad & mac/cheese. The ribs were a small portion and extremely salty, the potato salad was inedible, I would not feed this to my 2 dogs and the mac was plain. They have no a/c, it was hot. When the server came to get our order you could smell the whiskey from a mile away. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
Bad experience. Waited over an hour because my order was forgotten about and overlooked multiple times. When food was ready it was still wrong and pieced together to complete. I saw diners come, order, eat and leave all while I waited. Food ended up being subpar.I would not recommend it.
Nice place great vibe and the food was great
A little hole in the wall but definitely worth finding, the food awesome, would highly recommend.
So delicious! Definitely a family owned home made meal!
THIS FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!If you are ever in Savannah, you have to come here first!
I'm only putting the stars here to not mess up their rating. When I went the restaurant was closed due to Covid 19. I was really looking forward to trying what the locals were calling the best BBQ in town. Maybe next time.Important to note... The restaurant is on a half street/alleyway, so the GPS didn't take me directly there.
Fantastic family run, local, down to earth place. Great food and service too!
Best homemade BBQ sauce you'll ever eat!
Customer service and food here is excellent!! Highly recommend catfish, collards and Mac and cheese!
We were in hog heaven. Very good food. Cash only, not accepting plastic.
There easy going friendly folk. They've been in business a long time(1963). My late dad used to buy rib trays from here years ago when I was a kid.
A literal hole in the wal restaurant. It is in an alley, and when we first found it we were surprised to find it where it is.Very friendly and homey atmosphere. The food was good, but a tad pricey.
That BBQ sauce... So good.Home cooking. Highlights were chopped pork and homemade lemonade. That said, it was all good. Ribs. Okra and tomatoes. Mac and cheese. 1/4 chicken. Cornbread. Sweet tea. Peach cobbler. Rum cake. All very very good. Add their spicy or sweet BBQ sauces and it's just mouthwatering (especially with the pork). Or mix them. They were so friendly, we had a fun time. 5* and absolutely recommend if you're around Savannah.
Good BBQ in a very COZY kitchen. Clearly family-owned with kind staff. Don't expect a lot and you'll get plenty. Very good!!!
Stellar bbq and mac n cheese and a memorable eating experience.. Hit or miss on the hours of operation so check thoroughly before heading over here.. food is SOOOO good!
The BEST BBQ ever! Had the rib dinner. The bomb sides - mac n' cheese & collard greens with the sour cream pound cake for dessert. Yeeeessssss!
